What changes during the event
The standard version divides research time by 3. A stronger version can divide research time by 4. The effect applies to both main research and reactor research timing, so it benefits almost every long-term progression path.

Should every player focus this event? Focus it when it matches your current goal. A strong weekend bonus is still less useful if you do not have the ship, resources, group or activity needed to benefit from it.
How to use it well
Prepare Uranium before the event starts, then launch the longest and most expensive researches you can afford. The event is especially valuable for late progression, reactor development and expensive class-related upgrades.
Best priorities
Start researches with long duration, use Time Savers after the reduced duration is applied, and avoid wasting the event on short upgrades that would finish quickly anyway.
Extra notes
If both Fast Research variants ever overlap, the reduction is even stronger because both research-time modifiers are considered. This is rare, but it makes planning extremely valuable.
