Squad Monster Weekend makes selected enemies recruitable as temporary special squadron targets.
What changes during the event
Each run lists the monster family that can drop squadron recruits and the drop chance for that family. Recent scheduled examples include a specific Mechling-style recruit. The selected monster can change when the event returns.

Should every player focus this event? Focus it when it matches your current goal. A strong weekend bonus is still less useful if you do not have the ship, resources, group or activity needed to benefit from it.
How to use it well
Farm the listed monster family, stay close to the kill, and keep inventory space available. Group allies near the kill can also benefit when they meet the drop conditions.
Best priorities
Bring a group if the target is hard to farm, but stay within collection range. Dungeon drops are more restrictive, so normal maps are usually easier for focused recruit farming.
